I did this piece to honor the owners and employees of this amazing establishment.
When the official shut down of California came in March due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the food/wine/bar/restaurant industry was hit hard (Full of Life owner Clark Staub's wife, Jill Davie, had to close her restaurant Mar Vista in Los Angeles). Many businesses were forced to close down; some temporarily and some permanently. Those that were able to stay open had to drastically and creatively pivot to maintain safe practices for their customers and their employees; as well as figure out how to turn a profit to stay afloat and at the same time provide the high quality product everyone had grown to love and expect.
Full of Life went above and beyond to make this happen. Pick-up / to-go orders became the norm. But they didn't stop there. They helped create https://www.losalamosdelivers.com which included delivery from 5 other eating establishments as well as a few wineries; not only to their immediate area but also south to Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito and even Los Angeles!
In addition to this Herculean effort they also provided bags of fresh produce from local farms (often donating these to people in need), partnering with local fishermen and fisherwomen to provide access to daily fresh catches and even making available some of their ingredient staples from their "larder."
Did I mention their food is ridiculous?
Their food is ridiculous.
They are currently open for take out only. REVISED-today 12.17.20 -
Previous enrty on 10.20.20: Open for business only according to specific state and county guidelines and have plenty of safe outdoor seating. )
Thank you to the whole team at Full of Life for your dedication, determination and more specifically the love that you continue to spread through our taste buds, as evidence from the happy dances (sitting or standing) that people are compelled to express upon consuming your creations.
