Intermezzo is located in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara in the Presidio Neighborhood and holds a special place in my heart. Wine tastings & wine dinners, business lunches & after business drinks, celebrations of all types and many "before the show" cocktails have been enjoyed in this space.
Over the years I have been fortunate enough to become acquaintances, and frequently friends, with local restaurant owners, chefs, managers, winemakers, servers and bartenders. Sometimes these relationships bestowed upon me "special treatment:" a taste of something new the chef happens to be experimenting with, a secret pour from a winemaker's unlabeled bottle or the "extras" left in the bartender's mixing tin, just to name a few. I feel truly honored to be in this "club."
On a several occasions, in different locations, I have been granted access to the "after hours" gatherings (not quite what they used to be) and even allowed to cook up a late night snack or don the barman's apron and concoct a few specialty beverages of my own.
And that is all I am going to say about that.
