There are 33 pieces in this series so far, most were made in April & May 2020, when we went from 1 million worldwide COVID-19 infections to 3.8 Million worldwide. Then I started getting stomach aches and headaches when I was making the art. Creating went from therapeutic for expressing and releasing stress and fear to.....well...inducing those feelings. I tried to power thru those gnarly physical manifestations and did 5 more (3.4 million to 3.8 million) but i had to stop. My dreams started to be negatively influenced. Not good. So I took a month off and then tried to ease back into it on June 6th combining some thoughts and feelings regarding BLM and Covid...the bad aches came back...so again I stopped...then tried to jump back in the saddle on June 25th when we hit 9.5 million....it went "ok." I may do more.....I may not. I have heard from some that they can't look at them because they induce different types of anxiety. It does for me too sometimes. I hope that when people view the series as a whole, some people may see the nuances in this collective portrait of a virus. I felt creating the pieces in rapid succession was also a direct reflection of the 24/7 sensual bombardment of information regarding the Pandemic. One wants to stay informed but how to regulate the intake of words & images and make sense of what is true. Hence the frenetic vibrations of this series. I think the journey energy can be sensed. For better or for worse.
